Northampton Area Middle School’s Soups and Scoops Empty Bowls event will be held 5:30-7:30 p.m. March 27. This is a community event focusing on using art to create an impact on food insecurity in the community. The Scoops & Soups portion features soups and ice cream donated by local businesses and individuals. The Empty Bowls portion will include artwork, live music and activities, all provided by NASD students and staff.

The NASD art department ran its first Empty Bowls event in 2018. NAMS has raised thousands of dollars for local food pantries through its events and is hoping to continue to show how powerful art can be in uniting communities in helping others.

Proceeds from this event benefit food banks that serve NASD, including Northampton Area Food Bank, Second Harvest Food Bank of the Lehigh Valley and Northampton Area Middle School Food Pantry.

With your donation for entrance, your ticket includes your choice of a beautiful handcrafted bowl to take with you as a reminder there are still other bowls that need to be filled.
