The Salisbury High School and Salisbury Middle School mini football camp has returned. This is open to students in grades 6-11 and runs for six weeks (March 8, 15, 22 and April 4, 12, 19). Located at the SHS stadium, this camp will concentrate on individual skills plus the importance of working as a team. For more information, contact Coach Dizenzo at kdizenzo@salisburysd.org.
Do you, or do you know another parent/guardian who might need to strengthen their English? SHS is sponsoring free adult English classes for parents/guardians looking to improve their English fluency and communication skills. Taught by ESL teacher Wendy Hauser, these classes will be held 6-7 p.m. March 6, 13, 20 and April 3 and 10. Email whauser@salisburysd.org for more information.
If you are looking for something to do on the afternoon of March 9, the Salisbury Elementary School PTO is hosting a purse bingo at SMS. Doors open 11:45 a.m. and bingo begins 1 p.m. There will be special games, a basket raffle, 50/50 and refreshments for sale. There is always a big turnout for this, so get your tickets now at tinyurl.com/SESBINGO25. I hope you win!
One last reminder to get your tickets to the Salisbury Theatre’s presentation of “The Hello Girls” 7 p.m. March 13, 14 and 15 and 2 p.m. March 16. Order your tickets now at salisburysd.hometownticketing.com.
SHS is hosting a parent workshop “Secondary Transition: Transitioning from High School to Higher Education for Students with IEPs.” This will be presented by the Carbon Lehigh Intermediate Unit 5:30 p.m. March 18 in the high school library. To register, contact the high school at 610-797-4107.
I have another update on the South Mall. Demolition of the actual Bon Ton building has now begun.
But the news that a new Burlington store will occupy the space of the former Stein Mart has just been released. Also, a restaurant named S & D Soulicious Cousine will join the South Mall. You might recognize the name from the owner’s food truck. Things are looking up for our local little mall.
