LCTI applications open through March 1

The East Penn School District will continue to offer employment to students during the summer in the facilities department as summer maintenance workers.

The program will run for eight weeks June 23 to Aug. 15. Applicants must be at least 16 years old and a current student at Emmaus High School or have graduated from EHS and currently enrolled in higher education. There are 15 positions available. Applications are available in the EHS guidance office, main office and on the EPSD website. The position has a maximum of 320 hours. In the summer of 2026, EHS students will have the opportunity to visit London and Paris as part of a STEM-oriented trip. The trip, June 22 to July 2, 2026 includes visiting the Royal Observatory at Greenwich, the London Science Museum, the London Eye Ferris wheel, the Eiffel Tower and a day at Disneyland Paris. Interested students should email physics teacher Brent Ohl at bohl@eastpennsd.org or see him in Room 141. This opportunity is available for all EHS students, including current seniors.

Applications for Lehigh Career & Technical Institute for the next school year are now open. At LCTI, students can learn a wide variety of skills across numerous fields, including in health sciences, technology, skilled trades and many more. For more details and the application link, students should refer to the scheduling folder in their “Class of” Schoology.

If a student is already attending LCTI and plans to continue with the program next year, no new application is required. The deadline to submit applications is March 1.

EHS’s football team is searching for place-kickers and punters for the upcoming fall 2025 season next school year. Soccer players are especially encouraged to try out. The team practices 3:30–5 p.m. every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday during the fall. Varsity players have games 7 p.m. every Friday and JV games are held 4:30 p.m. Mondays. If selected, students will work closely with an on-staff kicking instructor to develop their skills. The EHS yearbook staff is now accepting “Senior Quotes” from the Class of 2025 for the 2024-2025 yearbook. Students should fill out the Google Form linked in their “Class of” Schoology with information including their name, their school-related activities, future plans and a brief 8-10 word quote.
