Sophie G. Terfinko, 100, formerly of Emmaus, died Feb. 18, 2025. She was the wife of the late Metro E. Terfinko. Born in Pittston, she was a daughter of the late Marion and Genevieve (Stumorska) Gruskowski.
She was a technician at Western Electric for 18 years before retiring in 1982. In retirement, she crocheted 12,000 newborn baby hats for LVHN-NICU. She enjoyed gardening and loved her flower gardens. She was well-known for her homemade pierogies and chicken soup.
She is survived by a son, Terry T. and his wife, Deborah P., of Macungie; granddaughters, Laurie Fanok Baker and her husband, Michael, of Hawaii, Susan Fanok, of New Tripoli, Jennifer Terfinko-Barnett and her husband, Andrew Barnett, of Fogelsville; great-grandchildren, Andrew Baker and his wife, Jena, of Hawaii, Madeleine Barnett, of Fogelsville, Eloise Barnett, of Fogelsville; great-great grandchildren, Henry and Arlo Baker, of Hawaii.
She was predeceased by her daughter, Jane Marie Fanok; five siblings.
