Peter M. Kahora Jr.

member of St. Joseph the Worker

Peter M. Kahora Jr., 72, of New Tripoli, died Feb. 22, 2025, in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township.

He died peacefully surrounded by his family in presence, as well as his countless friends in love as he made his journey to Heaven.

He and his wife, Janet (Larkin) Kahora, were married 42 years.

Born Sept. 5, 1952, in East Brunswick, N.J., he was the son of the late Peter M. Kahora Sr. and Frances (Romatowski) Kahora.

He was a validation engineer at Sharp, Bethlehem, for the last several years.

Before that, he worked for Thermofisher Scientific and Lucent Technologies.

He was a devout member of St. Joseph the Worker Roman Catholic Church, Orefield, and Knights of Columbus Council 10921 and served as a volunteer firefighter for the New Tripoli Fire Company.

He had an amazing love of the outdoors and enjoyed tending their property, hunting, fishing and gardening.

A family man in every sense of the word, he was a steadfast partner to his wife, was incredibly proud of his three children, and his grandchildren were the absolute love of his life.

The greatest title he ever held was that of Pap Pap.

He was always willing to lend a hand where he knew one was needed, even if he wasn’t asked, and he was the kindest man that most people ever knew.

He will be terribly missed by so many but his time on Earth was a testament as he set a wonderful example of how to live, and how to treat other people.

We will surely miss you Peter, Dad and Pap Pap. Fly high with God’s angels in Heaven.

In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by children Brian P. Kahora (Jessica) of New Tripoli, Emily M. Ladd (Patrick) of Walnutport, and Adam L. Kahora (Amy) of Laurys Station; brothers Edward P. Kahora (Pamela) of Friendship, Maine, Robert P. Kahora (Patricia) of Winoma, Mo.; grandchildren Colton, Gabriel, Weston, Ellie, Carsyn, Lincoln, Makenna and Harlan; and his faithful companion, his dog, Bailey.
