HANOVER (LECO) TWP Security camera decision delayed
At the Feb. 5 Hanover Township - Lehigh County Council meeting, council expanded the contract extension with Flock Security from Feb. 5 to Feb. 28. Council was to make a decision to keep or reject the cameras. With the delay the township will keep the 12 cameras purchased from Flock Security. The cameras are located mostly on state roads in Hanleco.
Council approved the Jan. 13 minutes of the reorganizations of the following commissions, boards and council: Planning Commission, Recreation Committee, Zoning Hearing Board, the council reorganization meeting, and the regular council meeting.
A Brosky Insurance representative discussed with council the insurance policies covering Hanleco. After a review of the coverage, the representative suggested the township purchase cyber liability insurance.
The Brosky rep noted that changes made to the township’s insurance package can provide better coverage at reduced cost.
Bill No. 2025-01 was introduced by council that if approved will amend Chapter 15, Section 801 of the statutory code of Hanover Township to add Hoover Avenue, South and Hoover Avenue, North to the street sweeping schedule. Bill No. 2025-01 addresses wording in Chapter 15 Section 801 that clarifies the ordinance.
Council authorized to proceed with an LED streetlight upgrade in the area of Valley Plaza from Capital Funds not to exceed $30,000. Light Emitting Diode streetlights save costs in maintenance, use less electricity, last longer, and reduce carbon emissions that are steps toward a greener environment.
Council approved the township bills for February in the amount of $227,137.96.
The Han-Le-Co Fire Department leaders opened the meeting by addressing council and asking council if they had any questions about their services.
