20s PARTY: You’re invited to shimmy your way into the second half of the 2020s with a tribute to the 1920s at Historic Hotel Bethlehem. Grab a fedora or a fringe filled dress to attend the Roaring ‘20s party Saturday, March 1, at 5 p.m. The ‘20s is a special decade at the hotel, which first opened its doors in 1922.
The menu features display and butler passed hors d’oeuvres, and a three-course dinner. Guests will end the evening on a sweet note with a dessert display featuring homemade creamy orange posset with bittersweet chocolate shavings. For reservations call 877-327-9402.
ROTUNDA GALLEY: Thomas Shillea, photographer, and Doug Zucco, printmaker, will be present a joint exhibition entitled, “Artists and Teachers” at the Bethlehem Town Hall Rotunda Gallery to April 1. This exhibition will focus on these two creative forces and their duality as both artists and educators, emphasizing their impact within the arts community. The Rotunda Gallery is located at 10 E. Church St. Gallery hours are Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The joint exhibition is sponsored by the Bethlehem Fine Arts Commission (bfac-lv.org) and the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts.
PROM SHOP: Bethlehem YWCA’s 2025 Pop-Up Prom Shop will be held at Venture X Bethlehem Saturday, March 29. Venture X will be transformed into a one-day boutique where teens can purchase incredible new and gently used gowns and women’s suits for only $20, they also offer accessories such as jewelry, purses and shawls for free during this event.
Volunteers and community members come together to make this event possible, along with the YWCA Bethlehem staff. The Pop-Up Prom Shop is an annual fundraising event that supports the mission of eliminating racism, empowering women and promoting peace, justice, freedom and dignity for all.
Proceeds raised from this event will be used in programs that benefit young women, teenagers and seniors in the Lehigh Valley. This event is possible thanks to: Wind Creek Bethlehem, PPL, Highmark and the support of: Venture X,
FREEDOM FUND: NAACP Bethlehem will host the 80th annual Freedom Fund Banquet, 2 p.m., Sunday, March 30 at Green Pond Country Club, 3604 Farmersville Road. Keynote speaker Dr. Belinda Waller Peterson, chair of the department of English at Moravian University, will address our theme, “A Celebration of Resilience and Black Enterprise.” 2025 honorees representing resilient business entrepreneurs in the Lehigh Valley will be honored: Tyrone Russell, Miriam Frey, Ulonda Weems, Michael Perry, Tyishe Sanderson, Veronica Moore, Chris Sell and Steve Holloman.
