Norman George Spangenberg, Jr., 84, of Stony Run, died Feb. 12, 2025, at home.
Born July 15, 1940 in Abington, he was a son of the late Norman G. and Mary A. (Livezey) Spangenberg.
He lived a life full of adventure, hard work, and love for the great outdoors.
He proudly served in the U.S. Air Force from September 1958 to August 1962.
Following his service, he built a long and dedicated career in the telephone industry, having last worked for the former Bell of Pennsylvania until retirement.
An outdoorsman at heart, he found joy in hunting, fishing and raising hunting dogs.
He had a deep respect for nature and spent countless hours in the wilderness, embracing the peace and challenge it offered.
He is survived by children Norman G. Spangenberg, III, Kellie S. (Jay) Cramer, Paul D. (Georgia) Spangenberg, and Matthew T. (Amy) Spangenberg; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren and his sister, Peggy Christy, who remains a cherished part of the family.
He was predeceased by his first wife, Judith Marion Spangenberg, the mother of his children.
Though life brought its challenges, his legacy lives on in the family he leaves behind and in the memories shared by those who knew him.
A private family gathering will be held to honor his life.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society in his memory.
