Join the Emmaus Historical Society for the next program at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 501 Chestnut St., Emmaus, 7 p.m. Sarajane Williams, president of the Lower Macungie Historical Society, will present the Fries Rebellion Movie, a film about self-discovery and political protest in Pennsylvania’s Lehigh Valley and a docudrama featuring historical events from The Fries Rebellion of 1798-1799.

Feb. 22

The 1803 House is turning 222 years old and celebrating 1-6 p.m. at Yergey Brewing, 235 Main St., Emmaus. Food and drink available for purchase.Try your luck at a gift card board or lottery ticket wreath raffle. Snow date is Feb. 23.

Feb. 27

The Upper Milford Township Historical Society will host Frank Willis in a presentation on powder horns 7 p.m. Powder horns, usually horns of an ox or cow, were re-purposed to store and carry gun powder. The presentation will be held at the Upper Milford Township municipal building, 5671 Chestnut St., Emmaus.

March 1

The Allentown Music Club will present “Memories of Broadway” 2 p.m. at Asbury United Methodist Church, 1533 Springhouse Road, Allentown. Popular musicals from the 1960s until the present will be performed by “The Flutations,” an ensemble group directed by Karen El-Chaar, flutist. Also performing are Monika Short, soprano, Jacqueline Ballarin, soprano, Barry Brown, tenor, Jonathan Beitler, piano and Bob Premecz, saxophone. The program coordinator is Jeanne Harakal. Attendance is free and open to the public.

March 3

The Emmaus Garden Club will host a bus trip to the Philadelphia Flower Show, “Gardens of Tomorrow,” at the Philadelphia Convention Center. The bus will leave Weis Markets, 1220 Chestnut St., Emmaus, 12:30 p.m. and leave Philadelphia 7:30 p.m. There is a cost. For more information, contact Diane at 610-554-0653.

March 4

Emmaus Garden Club meeting noon at Bethel Bible Fellowship Church, 418 Elm St. Emmaus. Enter at the back of the building/gymnasium. Parking at Bethel and St. John’s UCC, 139 N. Fourth St. The program is on Andalusia, a beautiful 50-acre estate, which sits along the banks of the Delaware River, just north of Philadelphia. John Vick, executive director, will present the history of the site, including the Big House, a stunning Greek Revival mansion built in 1795 and the extensive public and arboretum gardens. A delightful way to welcome spring. All are welcome. Light refreshments will be served.

St. Peter’s Union Church, 7863 St. Peters Road, Macungie, will host an Ash Wednesday worship service 7 p.m. All are welcome.

March 7, 8

The Emmaus Public Library will host the fifth annual “Tee Time at the Library” mini golf fundraiser 6-9 p.m. March 7 for those 21 years and older and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. March 8 for all ages. The Upper Milford Historical Society will host an open house 1-4 p.m. at the Upper Milford Township municipal building, 5671 Chestnut St. Visitors will have an opportunity to peruse the exhibits and visit the archives.

March 24

The Woman’s Club of Emmaus will celebrate the club’s annual Girls of the Month recipients with a reception 6 p.m. in the Emmaus High School cafeteria, 500 Macungie Ave., Emmaus. Dessert will be served.

Awardees include Lillian Price, Ava Grace Saab, Amanda King, Carina McCallum, Priya Mancheril, Anna Romina Chavilla-Ramirez and Sarah Lorenzo.

March 25

Hivel Und Dahl Preservation Society will host “An Evening with Russ Rentler” 7 p.m. at the Upper Milford Township municipal building, 5671 Chestnut St., Emmaus. Rentler is a musician and songwriter specializing in acoustic music. Admission is free and all are welcome.

March 27

St. Luke’s ThinkFirst to Prevent Falls presentation is scheduled 10-11 a.m. at St. Luke’s Hospital — Sacred Heart campus, 421 W. Chew St., Allentown. ThinkFirst to Prevent Falls is an older adult fall prevention program. The program goals are to raise awareness of the prevalence of falls and their serious consequences and to increase knowledge on reducing risks for falls. The presentation is free and participants will learn about fall prevention topics such as home safety, safety in the community, talking with your physician, nutrition and the significance of exercise, vision and medications. Scott Bieber will talk about local mining at the Upper Milford Historical Society monthly meeting 7 p.m. Bieber will highlight early mining operations for magnetic iron ore in the Vera Cruz area. Meetings are held at the Upper Milford Township municipal building, 5671 Chestnut St., Emmaus.

April 24

The Woman’s Club of Emmaus hosts a Spring Dessert Card Party 1 p.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 501 Chestnut St., Emmaus. This card party helps with funding for the club’s scholarship for a graduating senior at Emmaus High School. For table reservations, contact Mary Alice at 610-392-9367 before April 18. May 10

The Seed Farm, 5854 Vera Cruz Road, Emmaus, will host its annual spring plant sale 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Also May 11. The sale is held rain or shine and features more than 200 varieties of locally grown frost and cold tolerant vegetable, herb and flower starters. Starter plants are non-GMO, pesticide-free and grown without synthetic chemicals. Staff and volunteers will be on-site to offer information on plant care.
