Public Library of Catasauqua: Grab a good book to combat winter chill
February is the snowiest month of the year on average, and this February has had its share of the stuff — with some ice thrown in for good measure. As we’ve been saying all winter, it pays to stock up on fun reading and watching materials at the library for those cabin fever days.
It also pays to listen to the groundhog. Plus with a late Easter, we don’t even have Fastnacht Day until March!
At the front of the library, there are displays of recommended reading materials about winter, African-American history and other books from our collection. Also near the entrance is the special area for all of our available new books from popular and first-time authors.
We can also get thousands of other items from dozens of other regional libraries in a matter of a day or so. Come in, call or check out our catalog online. We’ll help you any way we can.
We always have our 4 p.m. Thursday afternoon reading and crafting program for children every week in the second floor children’s room for a wide age range of kids, and the Saturday children’s movie day, scheduled for 11 a.m. Feb. 22, will feature “The Wild Robot.”
The Keep Them In Stitches fiber arts group meets 5:30 p.m. Mondays.
The adult book group, which meets the first Wednesday of each month, will discuss “The Lady and the Unicorn” by Tracy Chevalier 3 p.m. March 5. Stop by or call for more information.
If you see a book you want to read on the list below, just call or visit our website to place a hold on a book. You need your library card number.
If you want to suggest a book for us to purchase for the library community, don’t hesitate to talk to us or send us an email at catasauquapl@cliu.org.
