District News: Prom fashion show set for Feb. 21
The annual prom fashion show, which shows off the latest styles, will be held 7 p.m. Feb. 21 in the auditorium at Whitehall High School. There is a snow date of 1 p.m. Feb. 22.

If your child would like to participate in Zephyr Elementary School’s science fair, complete the form by Feb. 21. Accepted students will be notified by Feb. 26, and parents will be added to the science fair Dojo by Feb. 27.
Presentations will be at the open house May 5.

WHS Theater will present “The Little Mermaid” 7 p.m. March 27, 28 and 29 and then 2 p.m. March 30. There is a cost.

The theater group is collecting recyclable plastics to help build its set. Items include plastic bottles, caps, jugs, Bubble Wrap and straws. All materials can be dropped off in the box outside of E100 and in the auditorium marked with the mermaid logo.

Zephyr Elementary’s Love of Literature Night will be held 5:30-7:30 p.m. Feb. 26. Ms. Muenker and Mrs. Stroup will guide families through a series of reading strategies. The first 50 families to join them for the reading strategy workshop will win a free copy of “Superfudge” by Judy Blume.
During the workshop, families can expect to learn a few helpful strategies that can be put to use right away at home.
In addition, a book fair, hosted by Whitehall-Coplay PTO PLUS, will be available in the cafeteria 5:30-6:30 p.m. and 6:15-7:30 p.m. in the library.

WHS Student Council will host its Minithon, a fun-filled event that combines dancing, activities and community spirit to raise funds for the Four Diamonds organization, Feb. 28. Four Diamonds supports children battling cancer and provides crucial funding for research, treatment and family support through Penn State Children’s Hospital.
