UPPER MACUNGIE Township offering youth sports classes

Lil Athletics Multi-Sport classes for kids ages 2-6 will take place Feb. 20 in the gym at Veterans Elementary School, 250 Twin Ponds Road, Breinigsville.

Times are 5-5:45 p.m. for ages 2-3; from 5:50 p.m. to 6:35 p.m. for ages 3-4 and 6:45-7:30 p.m. for ages 5-6.

Participants should wear sneakers and comfortable athletic attire.

Parents must remain at all classes.

Kids will be introduced to multiple sports in a fun, noncompetitive instructional program.

Lil Athletics uses fun, colorful props and equipment to add to the upbeat environment and make each lesson exciting for all. Lil Athletics uses age-appropriate equipment in a fun and positive environment.

Wildlands Conservancy is offering an Intro to Snowshoeing class and winter hike 11 a.m. to noon Feb. 15 at Lone Lane Park, 30 Lone Lane.

If there is no snow, participants will have the opportunity to try on snowshoes to get the feel of them in the grass

Enjoy a cup of hot chocolate after the winter hike along the trail.

There is a fee to participate.

A Pennsylvania Hunter-Trapper Education class will be offered from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Feb. 22 at the Upper Macungie Township Municipal Building, 8330 Schantz Road.

This free training class is required by law for all first-time hunters and trappers before they can buy a license.

Participants must pass a certification exam at the end of the class to complete this training. All registrants must be 11-years-old by Feb. 22.

No lunch is provided. Students should bring their own food and drink.

An indoor Zumba program with instructor Donna Barats will take place 6-7 p.m. Mondays Feb. 24 through March 31 in the gym at Jaindl Elementary School, 1051 Weilers Road, Breinigsville.

This six-week Zumba session is designed to improve cardio, muscle conditioning, balance, and flexibility, all while making friends and having a blast.
