Dive Deeper Summit proposals due March 5
Penn State Extension is seeking individuals and organizations to present at the 2025 Dive Deeper Summit for water educators, scheduled for Sept. 25 in Harrisburg.
A preconference field study and evening reception will be held Sept. 24.
Dive Deeper is an every-other-year conference for anyone who teaches about water, whether in the classroom, on the lake shore, in the woods or at the city playground.
The summit is a full-day conference featuring workshops, networking, educational exhibits and guest speakers.
The focus of this conference is to strengthen the capacity of educators to teach students about water, water ecosystems, aquatic life and related topics.
Organizers will consider all water-related proposals. Topic ideas include:
•Water education innovations for youth audiences and adult public audiences.
•New curriculum or teaching tools for water education, including technology, art and other media.
•Teaching about water to diverse audiences, disabled audiences and underrepresented audiences or in underserved communities.
•New techniques for water quality monitoring.
•Current issues and topics, such as climate change and resiliency, microplastics, environmental justice, invasive species, emerging pollutants, land use, drinking water protection and fresh and marine watersheds of all sizes.
•STEM education with a water focus.
•Addressing academic standards and environmental literacy with water education.
Numerous time slots are available for 45-50-minute concurrent session presentations at the event.
Proposals are due March 5.
