Oliver C. Bredbenner

NASD bus driver

Oliver C. Bredbenner, 93, of Lehigh Township, died Feb. 1, 2025. He was the husband of Barbara E. (Steigerwalt) Bredbenner for 66 years.

Born in West Penn Township, he was a son of the late Chester L. and Beatrice (Ruch) Bredbenner.

He started his career driving trucks for his father, before purchasing his own truck. He drove out of state for many years for Modern Transfer, Schwerman and MTS for 48 years. He retired from trucking and drove a school bus for NASD for 22 years.

He was awarded the Mack Million Miler, representing 40 times around the world.

He was a longtime member of Bethany Wesleyan Church, Cherryville.

He is survived by three sons, Jeffrey P. with Lori, Gregory L. and Keith O. with Monique; two daughters, Michelle E. Bredbenner with Bryon Reed and Melissa S. Liggitt with Todd; a brother, Curtis with Karen; 14 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by a daughter, Melanie A. Butz; a brother, Chester O.; and two sisters, Carolyn Kamenski and Dolores Sherry.
