Jean S. (Stump) Wieand, 91, residing at Mrs. Bush’s Personal Care Home, Kunkletown, formerly of Allentown, died Jan. 29, 2025, in St. Luke’s Hospital, Carbon Campus.
She was the wife of the late Stanley M. Wieand.
Born March 22, 1933, in Schnecksville, she was the daughter of the late Stella C. (Shellhammer) Seibert.
She was a secretary in the Parkland School District Administrative Building for 27 years before retiring in 1993.
A past noble grand of Lady Lillie Best Rebekah Lodge 222, Schnecksville, she also served as district deputy president of District 4 and held various state offices in the state assembly receiving the Jewel for the Decoration of Chivalry in 1997.
A member of Union United Church of Christ, Neffs, she volunteered in the office and kitchen.
She also volunteered at Community Fire Co. No. 1, Schnecksville.
Her survivors include children Terrence S.M. Wieand (Leah) of Harleysville, Kay E. Wieand of Whitehall, Mark D. Wieand (Carla) of Schnecksville, and Jason E. Wieand of Orefield; brother David A. Shellhammer of Slatington; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
