The Salisbury High School swimming and diving teams competed in meets against Quakertown and Saucon Valley last week.

The Falcons were swept by both teams. Quakertown won 96-57 in the girls meet and 84-63 on the boys side. Saucon Valley took the girls meet 88-67 and won the boys meet 107-52.

Phoebe Ballek (500 freestyle) and Olivia Amorim (100 freestyle) both won individual events against Quakertown on Friday, Jan. 24. They were also both part of Salisbury’s winning 400-yard freestyle relay team along with teammates Samantha Conrad and Meredith Kelley.

In boys events, Greg Tenzer (100 freestyle) was Salisbury’s only individual winner against Quakertown.

The Falcons swam to victory in two of the three relay races against the Panthers. Cameron Kubinsky, Joshua Orach, Caeden Amorim and Emerson Juhasz teamed up to win the 200-yard freestyle relay against Quakertown, while Kubinsky, Amorim, Tenzer and Juhasz won the 400 freestyle relay.

Against the Saucon Valley Panthers, Ballek (200 freestyle, 100 breaststroke) won two individual events while teammate Rachel McKelvey (100 butterfly) won one. Ballek also led off the Falcons’ winning 200-yard freestyle relay team, which included Gwyn DeFazio, Kelley and Olivia Amorim.

Kubinsky (individual medley) was Salisbury’s only boys individual event winner against Saucon Valley. He also led off the winning 200-yard freestyle relay team, which also included Juhasz, Rafael Carpo and Orach.
