Edith D. Ottinger, 95, formerly of Allentown, died on Jan. 29, 2025, in Legend of Allentown.

She was the wife of the late James A. Ottinger.

Born Feb. 23, 1929, in Mauch Chunk, Carbon County, she was the daughter of the late Frederick and Anna (Reichenbacher) Billig.

She was employed by the Allentown School District for 25 years before retiring in 1993 from Dieruff High School.

An avid card gamer, she loved bowling, knitting and crocheting but mostly she loved her family.

She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, Allentown.

Her survivors include sons Alan J. Ottinger and his wife, Loretta, of Breinigsville, and Lloyd F. Ottinger and his wife, Angela, of Orefield; grandsons Joshua (Nicole), Glen (Casey), Matthew (Jenna), Mitchel (Rupal), Jacob (Jena), and Michael (Caitlyn); great-grandchildren Hudson, Grace, Paxton, Madilyn, Charlotte, Nora, Olivia, Jade, Jordan, Amari and Mason; and a great-granddaughter due in April.

She was predeceased by 11 siblings.
