The East Penn Conference basketball tournament gets underway this Friday.
The first round action takes place at the home site of the higher seed with the semifinals and finals moving to the PPL Center next week.
Pocono Mountain West (20-2) will be the top-seed in the boys bracket and will face eighth-seeded Freedom (12-10) at home on Friday night.
Liberty (18-4) came in as the second-seed and will face Pocono Mountain East (17-5) and Central Catholic (19-3) rounds out the top three with a showdown against Northampton (14-8).
Parkland (14-8) and Whitehall (17-5) will face off in a four-five matchup.
The boys semifinals will be next Tuesday at 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. respectively and the championship is set for next Thursday night at 8 p.m.
In the girls bracket, Emmaus (21-1) comes in as the top-seed and will face Central Catholic (12-9) in Friday’s opening round.
Liberty (16-6) faces Nazareth (14-8) in a two-seven matchup and Easton (18-4) squares off against Bethlehem Catholic (13-9) in a three-six showdown. Parkland (15-7) and Stroudsburg (18-4) are paired in a four-five matchup.
The girls semifinals will be on Monday evening at the PPL Center at 6 and 8 p.m. and will play the final on Thursday evening before the boys’ championship at 6 p.m.
