Harold A. Silfies

of Lehigh Township

Harold A. Silfies, 94, of Lehigh Township, died Jan. 27, 2025, at St. Luke’s Hospice House-Lower Saucon. He was the husband of the late Margaret (Heckman) Silfies for 56 years.

Born in Walnutport, he was a son of the late Francis Sr. and Helen (Marsh) Silfies.

He was a lifelong farmer, proudly operating Silfies Farm well into his 90s, earning him recognition as one of the oldest active farmers in Northampton County.

He is survived by seven children, Dennis with Darlene of Walnutport, Janice Hamm of New Tripoli, Richard with Sheila of Danielsville, Leonard with Debbie of Walnutport, Terry with Kathy of Northampton, Elaine Karrick of Seligman, Mo., and Lisa McDonald with Patrick of Nazareth; 12 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Ida of Northampton; and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by a great-grandson, Tucker Wessner; three siblings, Francis Jr., Mae Meixsell and Blanche Fisher; and two sons-in-law, Marlin Hamm and Wayne Karrick.

There will be a visitation 9:30-11 a.m., followed by a funeral service 11 a.m., Feb. 6 at the funeral home, 2165 Community Drive, Bath, 18014.
