CONTRIBUTED PHOTOFirefighters respond to a reported structure fire just after 1:30 a.m. Feb. 2 in the 2400 block of Main Street, Northampton. Crews from several departments in the area battled the fire at the former Northampton Fire Company No. 1 First Ward building for nearly six hours and had to report back to the site later in the day for a rekindle. One firefighter was reportedly injured but has been released from the hospital and is back on duty. The fire remains under investigation. As this edition was going to press, a three-alarm fire was also reported in the 700 block of Smith Lane Feb. 4.
