Donald“Smitty” E. Smith, 93, formerly of 2615 Lafayette Ave., Bethlehem and Atria, Bethlehem, died January 22, 2025 at Holy Family Manor, Bethlehem. Born in Allentown, he was the husband of the late Daisy (Freere) Smith.

He was in the U.S. Army serving in Korea after graduation from high school.

He was a truck driver throughout the Lehigh Valley.

He volunteered for many years at Holy Family Manor where he considered the employees and residents as family.

He is survived by five grandchildren, Heather Ehrgott, Megan Desthers, John A. Brandle III, Brittni Nishimura and Kyle Nishimura; five great-grandchildren, Autumn, Jeremiah, Gloriana, Micah and Matthew; and a nephew, Neil Smith.

He was predeceased by three daughters, Linda L. Brandle, Grace S. Nishimura and Gloria Ehrgott; and a granddaughter, Ryan Suzanne Brandle.
