Nominations for the 97th Academy Awards were announced Jan. 23.

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences presents the 2025 Academy Awards ceremonies, honoring 2024 theatrical motion picture releases, 7 p.m. March 2, Dolby Theater, Los Angeles, with Conan O’Brien as host and the show televised on ABC-TV.

The Lehigh Valley Press Focus section again presents the “Readers Pick the Oscar Winners” contest, open to readers of Lehigh Valley Press newspapers and websites.

The person who picks the most correct number of Oscar recipients in the contest’s seven major categories, receives a $50 gift card for Penn’s Peak, Jim Thorpe; movie tickets to The Roxy theater, Northampton; Press newspapers price package, and may have his or her photo published in the Focus section of the eight Lehigh Valley Press newspapers and websites.
