South Whitehall Township sponsored candy cane hunts at four of the township’s parks on Dec. 14, 2024.
Parks included were Covered Bridge, 2465 Wehr Mill Road, Fernwood, 1900 Molinaro Drive, Vistas, 5320 Clauser Road, and Springhouse West, 4320 Farm Drive.
Attendees were asked to donate canned chicken noodle soup, Chef Boyardee products or Spaghetti-O’s for the Parkland Cares Food pantry.
As with an Easter Egg Hunt, South Whitehall firefighters and township employees spread out hundreds of wrapped candy canes behind barrier tape.
When the hunt began, the tape was lowered and children ran to collect as many candy canes as they could.
