Mackenzie named to homeland security, foreign affairs subcommittees

Congressman Ryan Mackenzie, R-7th, has been appointed to several key subcommittees within the House Foreign Affairs and Homeland Security Committees for the 119th Congress.

These assignments position Mackenzie to address critical issues including counterterrorism, emergency preparedness, and international relations, including threats posed by China and illegal immigration.

From his position on the Homeland Security Committee, Mackenzie will serve on the Counterterrorism and Intelligence and Emergency Management and Technology Subcommittees.

These roles will enable him to work on enhancing national security measures, supporting law enforcement agencies, and ensuring first responders have the necessary resources to protect communities in Pennsylvania and across the nation, according to the news release.

On the Foreign Affairs Committee, Mackenzie will serve on the East Asia and Pacific and Western Hemisphere Subcommittees.

These positions will allow him to engage directly with the most pressing foreign policy challenges facing our nation, including issues related to China’s growing influence, fixing our borders, and the fight to reprioritize American interests.

“I am honored to be serving the people of the Greater Lehigh Valley on these critical committees,” Mackenzie said. “Strengthening our national security, supporting law enforcement and first responders, securing our borders, and reducing global instability will be key to our nation’s future.

“I look forward to collaborating with my colleagues to deliver on these priorities and fight for the interests of the Greater Lehigh Valley and the nation as a whole.”
