It was a tough battle at the Da Vinci Science Center on Jan. 4, but once the nitrogen gas cleared, Alvin H. Butz Inc., Allentown, was voted the best ice cream of the day.
Their creation, Butz Blueprint Blend, included milk, sugar, cookie dough bits, golden Oreos, heavy cream and vanilla.
Other competitors included B104, ATAS International Inc., WFMZ, PPL, B. Braun Inc., WDIY and Victaulic Inc.
Every ice cream creation was delicious and a winner in its own right.

Radio Station B104 was one of eight companies competing to create the best ice cream concoction during the Da Vinci Science Center’s Ice Cream Wars. Members included Ava DiMartini, Mandy Schnell, Jeff Warner, Morning Host Becca, Lisa DiMartini, Brian Shoemaker and DC.
ATAS International Inc. was one of eight companies competing to create the best ice cream concoction during the Da Vinci Science Center’s Ice Cream Wars. Members included Mark Bus, Kevin Klursy, and Jack, Maria, Sam, Elsie and Casey Bus and Caroline Reinhart.
WFMZ was one of eight companies competing to create the best ice cream concoction during the Da Vinci Science Center’s Ice Cream Wars. Members included Melanie Falcon as Elphaba from “Wicked,” Dustin Schoof, Madelynn Dilliard, Amy Unger, and Maxwell, Jamie and Steve Snyder, Jen Dilliard as “Glinda” from “Wicked” and Zach Brader.

Members included Paige Yatcilla, Pete Schneck, Mark Yatcilla, Michele Diehl, Luke and Renee Yatcilla, Tayden and Tabithe Turney, Natalie Seifert, Brooke Watson, Brianna Moyer and Christian Fungo.

Tom Prostko, educator with Da Vinci Science Center, showed the properties of nitrogen and how it is used to make ice cream for the contestants in the Da Vinci Science Center’s Ice Cream Wars.
