Roughies Report: Taven Ying moves on to DECA states

Thirty-three Lehigh Career & Technical Institute students qualified to participate in Pennsylvania Distributive Education Clubs of America’s annual career development conference, scheduled for Feb. 18-21 in Hershey. Students from LCTI’s advertising design/commercial art, cosmetology, marketing and entrepreneurship and supply chain management and logistics technology all secured spots at the DECA state competition with strong performances during the Dec. 16, 2024, District 7 competition at Lehigh Carbon Community College.

Congratulations to Catasauqua High School student and Lehigh DECA competitor Taven Ying, marketing and entrepreneurship, who placed at districts and qualified to compete at DECA states.

On Feb. 5, Catasauqua Area School District will dismiss early. CHS students will be dismissed 12:50 p.m.

CASD Board of Education next meets 7 p.m. Feb. 11 in the district administration offices, 201 N. 14th St.
