East Allen hears warehouse pitch
At the Jan. 23 East Allen Township Board of Supervisors workshop meeting, two public hearings were held. The hearings were regarding an appeal petition by the Ridgeline Property Group, of Georgia, which seeks to develop a warehouse at 7230 Beth-Bath Pike.
The warehouse is expected to occupy 584,200 square feet in a cross-deck-style structure. The applicant is requesting permission to build a high cube warehouse with parking within a conservation district.
Attorney James F. Preston, of the Broughal and DeVito law firm, represented Ridgeline Property Group at the hearing.
A number of residents spoke out against the request, citing there are too many warehouses in the area already, as well as traffic, flood management and quality-of-life concerns. The supervisors have 45 days to render a decision on the request.
The Ridgeline application is posted for resident review on the township’s website, eatwp.org.
In other business, the supervisors approved the minutes of the Jan. 6 meeting.
The supervisors approved a recommendation to award a contract for the upfitting of a rapid response vehicle in the amount of $64,671. The cost covers a light package, tools, equipment and siren for the truck. The township owns the truck, but it is to be used by the East Allen Township Volunteer Fire Department. The funding of the truck and add-ons was reported as being grant funded.
Supervisors approved resolution 2025-06 for the sewage facility planning module for Compass Business Center East. The business center will be a 66-unit park for business. It is expected 11 buildings will be in the park.
The supervisors approved resolution 2025-07 to renew an agreement with First Regional Compost Authority. This will be the renewal of the current contract and will run for the next three years.
