Coplay: Steak, cash raffle set for Feb. 2
American Club of Coplay will hold its steak and cash raffle 1-5 p.m. Feb. 2 at the pavilion, 300 Cherry St. Doors open noon.
Tickets include lunch and refreshments. Tickets can be purchased at the club office, 300 Cherry St., or at the door.

Coplay Sports will be holding sign-ups for baseball and softball noon-2 p.m. Feb. 8 and March 1 and 5:30-7 p.m. Feb. 12 and 26 at the Coplay Sports Den, 666 Potter Terrace. Online sign-ups started Jan. 6 on coplaysports.org.
Baseball is for ages 5-15, and softball is for ages 5-8.

St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, 4 S. Fifth St., is planning its third annual St. Peter Rocks Out Mardi Gras party 5:30-10 p.m. March 1 in the social hall.
The event includes a New Orleans-menu buffet dinner, beer, soda, water, coffee, tea, beads, masks, prizes, indoor parade, music by the Josef Kroboth Band and dancing. The party is BYOB.

A bus trip to the Philadelphia Flower Show is set for March 7 and sponsored by St. Peter’s. The bus will depart from the church 9:30 a.m.
The cost includes a show ticket, a voucher for dinner at Cracker Barrel in Plymouth Meeting, driver gratuity, snacks and refreshments on the bus. There is a nonrefundable deposit. Make checks payable to St. Peter Roman Catholic Church.

Winter tip for feral cats from Coplay Borough: Use straw in outside feral cat sleeping areas. Other materials like blankets and pillows outside can hold moisture, while straw repels moisture. Straw is highly insulating and traps the cat’s body heat.

Coplay Food Bank, located in the lower level of the municipal building, 98 S. Fourth St., is open 8:30-10 a.m. the second Tuesday of every month.
If unable to attend the scheduled Tuesday morning time frame, call Jodi at 610-262-0928 to make other arrangements.
The food bank needs coffee, spaghetti sauce and noodles, canned pasta, rice pouches and non-sweetened dry cereals. Monetary donations are always accepted.

Coplay American Legion Post 426 has an special mailbox in front of the Post at 134 S. Second St. Worn-out American flags can be deposited into the mailbox for the Post to properly destroy.
