LEHIGH VALLEY WEATHER

STUDENT PROFILE

Grade: 12

Family: Laura (Mom), Michael (Father), Sam (Brother), Steel (Bunny).

Favorite subject(s): My favorite subject is chemistry because chemistry is an evolving subject with broad implications in health and explains day-to-day interactions. Plus, the chemistry teacher is awesome.

Activities: In school, I’m a chemistry lab assistant and co-lead: the Jewish Student Association, art club, and robotics team.

Next steps: After this year – I’m a senior – I plan to receive an undergraduate degree in engineering from Swarthmore College, then either go to med school or graduate school.

Career goals: I would like to become a doctor or engineer while trying to innovate and develop new ideas in whatever I do. I have 6+ doctors in my close family, so I have been constantly surrounded by doctors, allowing me to see their importance in society.

Heroes: I struggle to determine one person as my hero as I look up to and am inspired by so many people. But, I would probably pick my Bubbie as she is always resilient, hilarious and inspires me to keep working hard.

Hobbies: Outside of school, I enjoy creating ceramics on the potter’s wheel, doing photography while traveling, shadowing surgeons, and doing research in STEM.

Current job(s): I work on the promotions team of the Lehigh Valley Iron Pigs, so you’ll see me standing on dugouts during the T-shirt toss or singing take me out to the ballgame during the seventh-inning stretch.

Volunteer/community work: I have volunteered many summers at an Art camp in Davis, California, and now at a local assisted living facility.

Likes: I like sushi, pasta, hamburgers, pizza. So basically, anything off a kid’s menu. I also like animals and hanging out with my friends.

Dislikes: I dislike shrimp and losing in fantasy football.

Greatest accomplishment (so far): Growing up in three different continents and creating an online art business that has accumulated over 47,000 subscribers on YouTube (so far).

Advice for peers: Everything you do counts, so try your best and put in effort, as everything will pay off in the long term.
