A 57-year-old person, of Macungie, was allegedly driving under the influence along Main Street Jan. 1, according to Macungie police.
Harassment/disorderly conduct
A 25-year-old male, of Macungie, allegedly spit on the front door of a retail business in the 300 block of Main Street and refused to leave the business after he was told several times to do so by staff at the store in an incident Jan. 7, according to Macungie police. The male then allegedly fled the business but was located by police at a nearby gas station/convenience store, according to authorities.
Hit and run
A vehicle was struck, possibly by a school bus, while along West End Trail during the morning of Dec. 28, 2024, according to Macungie police. Light damage and traces of yellow paint were found on the left rear side of the vehicle, according to authorities. Domestic disturbance
A 27-year-old male, of Macungie, was taken into custody and faces alleged felony drug charges as well as charges of simple assault and harassment after officers were called to a residence in the 100 block of Linfield Drive for a disturbance in which another person was assaulted by the male Dec. 28, 2024, according to Macungie police. Officers found a large quantity of illegal drugs and “items associated with the distribution of drugs” at the residence, according to a news release.
A 29-year-old male, of Macungie, was taken into custody and faces an alleged felony strangulation charge as well as simple assault, criminal mischief and harassment charges after he allegedly broke into a residence in the 100 block of West Chestnut Street and assaulted another person Jan. 12, according to Macungie police. “During the course of the assault the female was choked unconscious,” according to a news release.
