PHS swim teams cruise to win over Kids
Parkland’s swimming and diving teams beat Northampton to stay undefeated in East Penn Conference meets this season. The Trojans also competed in the Wilson Relays over the weekend.
Parkland beat Northampton 147-38 in the girls meet and 130-56 in the boys meet.
Kelsey McPeek (200 free, 100 free) and Sydney LaBaugh (individual medley, butterfly) won two events each and were part of two winning relays. The Trojans won all 12 events.
In the boys meet, Jacob Piccini (50 free, butterfly) and Dominic Faenza (200 free, breaststroke) won two events each as their team took all 12 events against the Konkrete Kids.
Both Parkland teams improved to 9-0 overall and 6-0 in EPC action with just two league dual meets left on the regular season schedule.
The Trojan boys team finished fifth out of 10 teams at the Wilson Relays at Wilson West Lawn last weekend. The boys team’s top finish at the meet came in the 200 relay when the foursome of Gabe Krizel, Quinn Conway, Pedro Teran and Colton Chung took third place.
Parkland’s girls team of Baylee Kish, McPeek, Milla Hahn and LaBaugh finished second in the 200 medley relay to mark the Trojan girls team’s best finish at the event, which features various types of relay races, many of which are not part of the event schedule in typical high school competitions.
North Penn won the boys team title at Wilson, with Emmaus, LaSalle and Wilson rounding out the top four.
Parkland’s girls team finished seventh. Upper Dublin won the girls meet with Wilson, Governor Mifflin, North Penn and Emmaus rounding out the top five.
