Juniors, seniors help Hornet boys beat Easton
The Emmaus boys swim team had a pair of high-profile competitions recently as it squared off against EPC foe Easton and then took part in the Wilson Relays at Wilson West Lawn High School.
The junior and senior classes had a strong showing against the Red Rovers as the Hornets took a 124-56 win against Easton.
Juniors Roman Herman, Will Reichart, and Bryce King, along with seniors Brady King and Julian Vlaeminck all took a first place finish in individual events, as did sophomore Brennan Smith in the meet against Easton.
Easton’s Jake Brunetti won the 100-yard backstroke event but had a pair of Emmaus swimmers pushing him with Herman finishing second and Reichart coming in third. Herman was just 0.65 behind Brunetti for the top spot.
Emmaus took the top two spots in the 50-yard freestyle with Reichart winning the event and Jack Duerholz taking the number two spot just 0.68 behind Reichart. Vlaeminck’s first place finish came in the 100-yard freestyle for Emmaus and the 500-yard freestyle was won by Bryce King as he finished ahead of teammates Carson Mosel and Reese Wunderler, who took second and third, respectively.

Doug Cornish bested Easton’s Adam Lapham by a score of 200.60 to 149.90 to win the diving competition.
Emmaus took the top two spots in all three relays, with the 200-yard medley relay team of Herman, Duerholz, Carter Smith, and Parker Gamler edging out the team of Reichart, Evan Fegley, Evan Walker, and Aaron Kenny by 1.63 seconds.
The Hornets first-place team in the 200-yard freestyle relay (Kenny, Mosel, Bryce King and Graham Lovett) finished 2.74 seconds ahead of Duerholz, Gamler, Brady Hazlett, and Ridley Hartman.
The 400-freestyle relay was won by Hartman, Griffin Messenlehner, Good Schaefer, and Brady King, as they finished with a top time of 3:27.79 and bested teammates Vlaeminck, Carter Smith, Brennan Smith, and Joe Lyons who finished with a time of 3:30.58.
At the Wilson Relays, Emmaus finished a close second to North Penn High School for the top team score with a final score of 147-146.
