After a busy stretch over the last week of December and first two weeks of January, the Parkland girls wrestling team competed in just one match last week.
The Trojans beat Emmaus last Wednesday, Jan. 15, 44-30 victory, for its second dual win in a row.
Parkland won eight of the 13 bouts, including five pins, two major decisions and one forfeit win.
The Hornets opened the match with a pin at 170 pounds, but Parkland tied it in the next bout as Lizkarla Grullon Vasquez earned a pin at 190 pounds.
Following another pin by Emmaus to go back up 12-6, but the Trojans recorded five straight victories, including three pins by Lily Snook, Teagan Tremba and Saige Rittenhouse, a major decision win by Ella Hesener and a forfeit victory for Payton Ocasio, as Parkland took a commanding 34-12 advantage.
Victoria Lasagna recorded a 21-10 major decision at 136 pounds and Angelina Spachman earned a pin at 142 pounds to round out the Trojans wins.
Parkland, which improved to 4-1 overall and in the conference, had a dual match at Freedom Wednesday and will compete in the EPC championships at Liberty on Saturday. Districts are set up for Sunday, Feb. 16, at Easton Middle School.
