FOP honors six retirees

The Fraternal Order of Police Bethlehem Star Lodge #20 recognized and celebrated the 2024 retirements of six members of the Bethlehem Police Department at their annual dinner Dec. 27, which was held at the Historic Hotel Bethlehem. More than 100 people attended.

A cocktail hour, buffet dinner, music and dancing, raffles, a caricaturist, and the general camaraderie of the men and woman in blue, past and present, made for an enjoyable evening for current and former police officers and their guests. Chaplain Scott Parry (ret.) said an invocation before dinner.

FOP board President Robert Nichelson introduced retirees in attendance and read short bios of the six 2024 retirees, including:

* Thomas Galloway, Badge #344, who retired as a patrol sergeant and served from April 2004 to February 2024.

* Douglas Nothstein, Badge #351, who retired as sergeant of platoon #4 and served from October 2004 to April 2024.

* Bradford Jones, Badge #355, who retired as a detective sergeant in the criminal investigations division and served from January 2005 to July 2024.

* Jeffrey Lutte, Badge #356, who retired as a sergeant assigned to platoon #4 and served from January 2005 to June 2024.

* Jon Buskirk, Badge #353, who retired as a lieutenant on platoon #4 and served from January 2005 to June 2024.

* Chad Wasserman, Badge #354, who retired as a sergeant on platoon #1 and served from January 2005 to August 2024.

The Bethlehem Star Lodge #20 is committed to improving the working conditions for its members and serving the citizens of Bethlehem through education, information, community involvement, and employee representation.
