Richard P. Bingell

Richard P. “Dick” Bingell, 88, of Fellowship Community, Whitehall, formerly of Schnecksville, died Jan. 19, 2025, in his residence.

He and his wife, Madeline A. (Kern) Bingell, were married 66 years.

Born Aug. 13, 1936, in Allentown, he was the son of the late Andrew P. and Dorothy B. (Plarr) Bingell.

He was a supervisor at Mack Trucks Inc. working at both Allentown and Macungie Plants for 25 years before retiring in 1986.

From 1988-98, he was a custom metal fabricator for Penn Sheet Metal, Wescosville.

He was a member of Union United Church of Christ, Neffs, where he formerly served on the consistory.

He was a former member of the Hiawatha Hunting and Fishing Club, East Stroudsburg.

An all-star softball player, he was inducted into the Softball Patriots Hall of Fame.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter Kay E. Bingell and her companion, Eleana Belletieri, of Allentown.

He was predeceased by a son, Chris P. Bingell, and a sister, Elinor Szabo.

His memorial service will be 7:30 p.m. Jan. 24 at Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc., 4906 Route 309, Schnecksville.

The Rev. Kayli L. Freeman will officiate.

Family and friends may pay their respects 6:30-7:30 p.m. Friday before the service.

Private interment at Union Church Cemetery, Neffs.
