Sheckler News: Students, staff show thanks

January is School Board Appreciation Month. At the recent Catasauqua Area School District Board of Education meeting, CASD celebrated by having each school share a presentation from the students and staff to show their gratitude. An information session to join Daisy Troop 631 will be held 6-7 p.m. Jan. 23 at St. John’s United Church of Christ, 575 Grape St., Whitehall.

Sheckler Home & School Association is hosting a cocoa and canvas fundraiser event Jan. 29, and there will be two time sessions available. Doors open for the first session 5 p.m., and the second session will begin 7 p.m.

Tickets are $8 per person and include all supplies and a cup of hot chocolate.

Advance tickets are required. A link to purchase tickets can be found on the Sheckler Elementary Facebook page.

CASD has an early dismissal Feb. 5. Sheckler students will be dismissed 1:30 p.m.

CASD Board of Education will next meet 7-8:30 p.m. Feb. 11 in the district administration office.

The monthly school lunch menu for menu is posted on Sheckler’s website under “food services.” There will be no meals served Jan. 27 for the school closure.
