The “Twelfth Night Festival” was presented for the 41st year at Christ Lutheran Church, Allentown. Performances were at 7:30 p.m. Jan. 10 and 1 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. Jan. 11 and Jan. 12.
“Twelfth Night” refers to the 12th night of Christmas, also known as the eve of Epiphany, the day that commemorates the visit of the Magi to the baby Jesus as told in the New Testament of The Bible.
Modeled on medieval pageants and feasts, the production included hundreds of volunteer cast members from the congregation and the community in costume and behind the scenes.
Andrew Lutz-Long, Christ Lutheran Church Associate Music Director, was “Twelfth Night Festival” Conductor of the approximate 20-piece orchestra. Michael Krentz is Christ Lutheran Church organist and Music Director.
The Christ Lutheran Church choir was accompanied by more than two dozen volunteer singers from other congregations and the orchestra. Local performers, including the Allen High School Dancers and the City of Bethlehem Bagpipe Band, were part of the production.
The “Twelfth Night Festival” is a memorial to Eleanor D. Kramp, who founded the event.
