NHS honors senior swimmers and divers
The Northampton varsity swim and dive team honored their seniors this Tuesday night during a home meet against Dieruff High School.
The dual meet gave the team another win and offered time to honor the graduating swimmers and divers from the class of 2025.
Coach Cullen Mentzell led Northampton in honoring their senior swimmers and divers as he focused his comments on newcomers to this sport. He told the crowd of Northampton parents, family, and friends that of the 16 graduating seniors on the swim and dive team this season, all of the divers and all but 4 of the senior swimmers started in this sport in high school.
Mentzell spoke of his appreciation for the experienced swimmers who brought leadership and expertise to the team and highlighted the senior newcomers, saying, “I’ve been impressed by the courage they have shown to not only get out there and try something new but to excel at it.”
