Fogelsville Fire Co. continues 100-year Christmas Day tradition

The Fogelsville Fire Company continued a 100-year tradition of having its Santa Run on Christmas Day 2024.

The Christmas Day run began in 1924 by the Lehigh-Portland Cement Company for children of employees.

The company would build a replica of a house, complete with a fireplace, in the bed of one of their trucks, then travel throughout Fogelsville with Santa giving presents to the children.

Around 1946, the Fogelsville Fire Company took over the program.

The fire company began the Santa Run with the goal of sharing the spirit of Christmas with those less fortunate living in the village.

This year’s Santa Run was a success with many residents gathering at different locations in the Fogelsville Fire District.

The largest gathering was found at the Fogelsville Post Office.

Children were delighted to meet and High- five Santa as he and his “elves” handed out small gifts.
