Upper Milford Township resident and former Allentown officer charged in rape case

An Upper Milford Township man and former Allentown police vice officer, along with a current Allentown police officer, face felony rape and related charges in offenses spanning several years, according to a news release from the Lehigh County District Attorney dated Jan. 10.

Jason Michael Krasley, 47, of Upper Milford Township and Evan Weaver, 45, of Weisenberg, are both charged with alleged rape and involuntary sexual servitude, both felonies of the first degree and misdemeanor charges of indecent assault, official oppression and prostitution and related offenses, according to the news release.

Krasley, a former Allentown Police vice officer, also is charged with alleged kidnapping, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse and intimidation of a witness, all felonies of the first degree and a misdemeanor charge of criminal coercion.

Weaver, an Allentown police officer, is also charged with alleged sexual assault, a felony of the second degree, according to authorities.

In November 2024, Krasley was charged by the Lehigh County District Attorney with alleged theft by unlawful taking or disposition and receiving stolen property — over $2,000 and tampering with or fabricating physical evidence after he allegedly removed $5,500 in cash from evidence seized from an Allentown barbershop while he was a vice officer with the Allentown police department in May 2019.

An investigation determined Krasley allegedly removed the money and created a receipt listing a lower amount of money seized from the barbershop, according to a news release dated Nov. 15, 2024.

Lehigh County Detectives conducted the investigation in which Krasley and Weaver are now charged, according to authorities. The investigation is described by authorities as “ongoing.”

“The offenses took place between 2011 and 2015. Both men are charged with raping and sexually assaulting the same victim. The statute of limitations for these charges is 20 years,” according to the news release.

According to court documents available online Jan. 12, Krasley is to be arraigned Jan. 29 on charges in the alleged removal of money taken into evidence in May 2019.

“The criminal complaints for both Weaver and Krasley are sealed and will not be released,” according to the news release from the Lehigh County District Attorney dated Jan. 10.

“If convicted of charges of rape and involuntary sexual servitude, both Weaver and Krasley face a possible maximum sentence of life in prison,” the news release continued.
