LEHIGH VALLEY WEATHER

Public Library of Catasauqua: HCPA plans Jan. 21 talk about Front Street business district

Winter doldrums are here, so stay warm and positive with some informative and entertaining items from your local library.

Remember, a library card is a free pass to services and fun that are hard to get anywhere else. If you’ve been putting off getting a library card, now is the time to fulfill that resolution. We’ll be here!

At the front of the library, there is a display of recommended winter books from our collection, as well as a display of materials by and about Jimmy Carter. Also near the entrance is a special area for all of our available new books from popular and first-time authors.

We can get thousands of other items from dozens of other regional libraries in a matter of a day or so. Come in or call, and we’ll help you any way we can.

The Historic Catasauqua Preservation Association will hold a free talk about the historic Front Street business district 6:30 p.m. Jan. 21 in our auditorium. The space is not wheelchair accessible.

We always have our 4 p.m. Thursday afternoon reading and crafting program for children in the second-floor children’s room for a wide age range of kids, and the Keep Them In Stitches fiber arts group meets 5:30 p.m. Mondays. Children’s movie days continue, with the next set for 11 a.m. Jan. 25. The adult book group meets 3 p.m. the first Wednesday of each month. Stop by or call for more information.

If you see a book you want to read on the list below or any other item, call the library at 610-264-4151, visit our website at catasauquapl.org or email catasauquapl@cliu.org to place a hold. To place a hold, remember we need your library card number, in addition to the title and author you wish to reserve.

If you want to suggest a book for us to purchase for the library community, don’t hesitate to talk to us.
