Debra E. (Werley) Smith, 73, of Clearwater, Fla., formerly of Slatington and Neffs, died Jan. 13, 2025.

She was the wife of the late R. John Smith.

Born Nov. 16, 1951, in Allentown, she was the daughter of the late Gordon W. Werley and Jean M.A. (Folk) Dutt.

A 1969 graduate of Parkland High School and a 1970 graduate of Lehigh Carbon Community College, she was a licensed practical nurse for Orefield Medical Center for many years before retiring.

Before that, she worked for Dr. Christine and Dr. Bren in Danielsville from 1984-99, and for Orefield Medical Center from 1968-84.

She was a life member of the Neffs Volunteer Fire Company.

Her survivors include children H. Benjamin Jacoby and his wife, Kristy, of Orefield, Deanna L. Manogue and her fiancé, Richie, of Slatington, David L. Smith and his wife, Lisa, of Topton, and Clay J. Smith and his wife, Jackie, of Schnecksville; sisters Glenna J. Henry and her husband, Ronnie, of Clearwater, and Brenda R. Strybuc and her husband, Lucian, of Bethlehem; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Her service will be private, at the convenience of the family.

Interment will be at Slatedale Cemetery.
