Robert Meyers Rosen, 83, of Lower Macungie Township, died peacefully Jan. 7, 2025.

Born to Nathan and Vivien Rosen, he dedicated his life to his family, career and community. He was married to his devoted wife, Mary Jo (Midge) Stevenson Rosen, for 60 years, a partnership that served as a cornerstone of love and support for their family.

He had a long and successful career as a chemical engineer. Even after retirement, his passion for education and safety led him to teaching and sharing his expertise of chemical process safety for the American Institute of Chemical Engineers until he was 82 years old.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, he was a volunteer and a dedicated member of numerous boards throughout his life. He continued his lifelong volunteerism through his death by donating his body for scientific research. His commitment to giving back to his community was a reflection of his kind and generous spirit.

He was an amazing provider and a true family man, known for his wisdom, compassion, sense of humor and unwavering love. He was not only a remarkable father and loving husband but also a trusted friend to many who were fortunate enough to know him. He was an avid card player and enjoyed gaming with family and friends. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all whose lives he touched.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by children, Stephen (Cindy), Deborah (John Plocinik), Lori (John Brodie), Tricia; grandchildren, Justin (Sasha), Nathan (Julia), Zachary, Amy, Nicholas, Michael, Graham, Casey; great-grandchildren, Weston, Ava, Zoey, Olivia.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Philip I. (Dennise) in 2023.

Per his wishes, a private celebration of his life will be held in the spring.
