Five EPC players all-state Pates Beete among those named

The East Penn Conference got some love from the Pennsylvania Football Writers with the announcement of the Class 6A all-state football team recently.

Five players from the EPC made the team, including Freedom running back Aaron Beete.

Other players to make the squad included Nazareth quarterback Peyton Falzone, Parkland running back TJ Lawrence, Emmaus defensive lineman Robert Edwards III and Easton running back and defensive back Will Day.

Falzone leads the way as the quarterback threw for 2,135 yards and 23 touchdowns through the air. He also ran for 697 yards and eight touchdowns.

Beete ran for 1,748 yards and 20 touchdowns this season, including 30 tackles n defense, as he was apart of a trio of EPC running backs to have phenomenal seasons.

Lawrence rushed for 1,148 yards and 13 touchdowns, adding another 328 yards receiving and two scores. As a middle linebacker, he registered a team-high 82 tackles, two sacks, two forced fumbles, a fumble recovery and a blocked field goal.

Day was selected as an athlete and finished this season with 1,107 yards rushing and 21 touchdowns to go along with 70 tackles, three interceptions, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery as a defensive back.

Edwards III, the EPC defensive MVP, made 92 tackles and recorded six sacks. He also forced two fumbles and returned an interception for a score.
