EHS names student of the week
Q. In what grade are you currently enrolled?
A. I am currently a senior at Emmaus High School.
Q. Please provide the first names of your family members: parents, siblings and pets.
A. Sarah, Todd and Tucker.
Q. What is your favorite subject? Why?
A. My favorite subject is science, biology in particular. I love science because to me it is just incredible how many things are going on below the surface that allow us to stay alive and make us who we are.
Q. Have you received any special awards or recognition?
A. National Honor Society, Principal’s Honor Roll and Spanish Honor Society.
Q. Are you involved in any extracurricular activities? How has being involved in these organizations impacted your high school experience?
A. I am a proud member of the Emmaus Science Olympiad team, Activism Club, Student Government Association, French Club and Emmaus Ice Hockey team. I also volunteer at the Emmaus Public Library and St. Luke’s Allentown Campus. These experiences have led me to not only connect with my peers but also my community. They have led me to realize where my passions lie and what kind of person I want to be.
Q. What do you consider your biggest challenge to date?
A. My biggest challenge has been trying to balance my time between academics and still being able to do other things I enjoy like hanging out with friends, ceramics and going on long walks outside.
Q. What is your next goal after high school?
A. I hope to go to college majoring in biology on the pre-med track to eventually become a doctor. I also would love to travel the world and become a better cook.
Q. If you could spend an evening conversing with an historically significant person, whom would you choose? Why?
A. I would choose David Bowie. He was a very creative individual who broke a lot of boundaries and I think he would be an interesting person to talk to.
Q. For what would you like to be remembered?
A. That I made the best out of every situation.
Q. Do you have any advice for your peers?
A. Have fun, get sleep, take risks.
