Ralph M. Hoffman, 92, of Northampton, died Dec. 21, 2024. He was the husband of Jean M. (Miller) Hoffman for 66 years.
Born in Northampton, he was the son of the late Ralph G. and Susanna E. (Haberern) Hoffman.
He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, with a rank of sergeant.
He was employed as a laborer at the former Beatrice Cheese in Whitehall for 10 years before retiring in 1994. Earlier, he was a repairman at the former Universal Atlas Cement Company in Northampton for 32 years. He also worked as a bartender for the former Sue’s Place in Northampton.
He was a member and former council member of St. John’s United Church of Christ, Laurys Station, where he taught Sunday school and was the unofficial photographer and historian of the church.
He was a member of Keenagers, Laurys Station, and American Legion Post 353, Northampton. He was a life member of Alliance Fire Company in Northampton.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two children, Kevin M. at home and Sharon M. Galetta and husband Steven of Lansdale; a sister, Verna Chandick of Northampton; and two grandchildren, Stephanie M. Galetta and Andrew M. Galetta.
He was predeceased by four brothers, Stanley, John, Alvin and Charles.
There will be a calling time 10-11 a.m., followed by a memorial service 11 a.m., Jan. 10 at the church, 1415 Rising Sun Road, Laurys Station.
