Lehigh County Commissioner Antonio Pineda officially announced his re-election campaign Dec. 3, 2024, reaffirming his dedication to responsible governance, fiscal accountability and supporting the community, according to a news release.

Throughout his tenure, Pineda said, he has been a steadfast advocate for taxpayers, consistently working to hold the line on property taxes and ensuring public funds are used efficiently. Among his legislative accomplishments, he said, is championing a property tax rebate program for volunteer firefighters, designed to acknowledge their invaluable contributions while easing their financial burden.

“Our volunteer firefighters put their lives on the line to protect our communities, often with little recognition,” Pineda said. “This rebate is a small but meaningful way to say thank you and encourage more residents to step up and serve.”

Pineda also said he was instrumental in securing the future of Coca-Cola Park, leading efforts to allocate county investments that ensure the IronPigs, a cornerstone of Lehigh Valley culture and economy, remains a cherished part of the community, the news release said.

“My vision is for Lehigh County to be a place where families thrive, businesses grow and communities prosper,” Pineda said.

An advocate for farmland preservation, Pineda said he prioritized funding to protect the county’s agricultural heritage and promote a sustainable future.

Additionally, his leadership has helped secure targeted grants for community projects that improve the quality of life for residents across the county, he added.

“My priorities are clear: maintaining fiscal discipline, enhancing public safety and investing in initiatives that pave the way for a better future,” Pineda said.

Pineda expressed his enthusiasm for continuing to serve the residents of Lehigh County, building on the successes of his time in office and addressing new challenges with the same dedication and care.
