Joyce E. Yeakel, 94, of Lower Macungie Township, died peacefully Dec. 22, 2024, at Lehigh Valley Hospital — Salisbury Township, after a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Kenneth H. Yeakel. Born in Emmaus, she was a daughter of the late Marion A. (Kehm) and Vernon R. Stoudt. She was a graduate of Emmaus High School and the Allentown Hospital School of Nursing.

She spent her entire 40-year nursing career at the Allentown Hospital in labor and delivery where she was head nurse for 15 years.

She was a member of Cedar Crest Bible Fellowship Church where she had many dear friends. She was an avid Phillies and Penn State fan and enjoyed Monday morning quarterbacking with Dale and her friend, Dottie.

She is survived by a daughter, Nancy Gillette and her husband, Michael; son, Dale; stepson, Kenneth H. Jr. and his wife, Marianne; granddaughters, Stephanie, Lauren and Valerie and their spouses; three great-grandchildren; sister, Geraldine Wolford; many nieces and nephews.
