Janet J. Knappenberger
Janet J. Knappenberger, 89, of Coopersburg, died surrounded by her loving family Dec. 30, 2024, at The Atrium in Allentown. She and her late husband, William F. Knappenberger, celebrated 53 years of marriage at the time of his passing Nov. 8, 2010. Born in Allentown, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Helen (Welty) Saylor.
She was a longtime member of St. Paul’s Lutheran “Blue” Church in Coopersburg and was a graduate of Allentown High School. She worked as an assembler and cafeteria staff member for many years for General Electric, later becoming Black & Decker and retiring from the company under the B. Braun name.
She was a member of the Upper Saucon Social Quarters and a former member of the Mercantile Club. Throughout her life, she enjoyed traveling.
She is survived by a daughter, Wendy A. Moyer and her husband, Gregory; sons, William G. and his wife, Terri and Mark A.; brothers, Edward Saylor and Albert Saylor; grandchildren, William and his wife, Erin, Timothy and his wife, Elizabeth, Ryan and his wife, Samantha, Samantha Kessler and her husband, Eric, Mark, Kimberly and her fiancé, Justin Mory, Gregory Moyer and his wife, Kayla, Andrea Moyer; great-grandchildren, Scarlett and William, Jemma and Mason Kessler, Savannah and Briggs Moyer, Roman Velotta, with one more on the way, Lily May Mory. She was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Christine.
Services will be held 1 p.m. Jan. 11 at St. Paul’s Lutheran “Blue” Church, 5900 Applebutter Hill Road, Coopersburg. A viewing will be held noon to 1 p.m. Jan. 11 in the church. Arrangements were made by Bachman, Kulik & Reinsmith Funeral Home, Emmaus.
