Catasauqua: Post 215 to hold breakfast

Catasauqua American Legion Post 215, 330 Second St., will hold its first breakfast of the new year from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. Jan. 12. Come out for all your favorites, and order right off the menu. All are welcome!

Reminder: These breakfasts are now being held the second Sunday of the month.

The Catasauqua J4 Committee will be meeting 7 p.m. Jan. 14 at North Catasauqua Borough Hall, 1066 Fourth St. Anyone interested in joining is welcome.

The group is beginning to plan the J4 celebration for the 250th anniversary of the United States in 2026.

The Friends of Catasauqua Parks will meet Jan. 15 at borough hall, 90 Bridge St. The mission of the group is to improve the quality of life of Catasauqua residents through recreational fundraising events to sustain parks.

The group meets the third Wednesday of the month. New volunteers and members are always welcome. There are no dues to pay to join.

The Lions Club collects used eyeglasses for areas in the world where glasses are an unheard-of luxury. The Lions have the glasses polished and shipped to optical missions around the world.

Your used glasses can be dropped off in the box at Holy Trinity Memorial Lutheran Church, 604 Fourth St. Cases are not needed.

Holy Trinity is once again holding its Warm-up Wednesdays initiative. Every Wednesday through March, there will be free soup 4-6 p.m. for the church family and community, merged with weekly games, karaoke and puzzle nights 6-8 p.m.
